A Guide to the Food You Can Eat After Oral Surgery

It is not pleasant, but it can happen to anyone: no matter how skilled your dentist is, sometimes they cannot treat a dental problem and has to proceed with oral surgery. The complete and fast healing will also depend on the way you are going to eat in the next few days following the intervention.

Here are some tips on the diet you should adopt, so as to overcome this stressful and unpleasant moment, without additional complications and to be able to resume your life and regular diet as soon as possible.

ü    An esteemed Parker sedation dentist warns that you should not eat until after the effects of the anesthesia are completely gone. Otherwise you risk biting and injuring yourself, as you will not feel the pain.

ü  A few days after the operation, you will have to avoid hard, cold or hot foods.

ü  Do not consume milk or dairy products of animal origin, in the next 24 hours after the surgery. Why? Because in the dairy industry, certain enzymes and bacterial cultures are used to coagulate milk or transform it into acidic products, such as yogurt, cheese or sour cream. These enzymes can interfere with the blood coagulating process. Instead, you can confidently consume vegetable milk, which does not contain lactose or gluten: almonds, soy or coconut drinks.
